33rd Annual Daisy 5K

21 Mar 2010

Austin, Texas
Sunday, March 21, 2010

The Austin Runners Club hosts its 33rd Annual Daisy 5K. Traditionally a women's only race held on Mother's Day, this race has evolved to include male runners so that women can run with their families and to change the date so that everyone can relax with their moms, grandmoms, and kids on Mother's Day.

Daisy still offers special amenities that moms will enjoy, like free child care during the race, a stroller division, and a separate women's only start. And in keeping with the "family friendly" theme, participants that wish to run with leashed dogs are welcome, but for the consideration of all runners, please line up with pets at the back of the final wave start.

Running with headphones or audio equipment is allowed, but strongly discouraged due to considerations for the safety of all runners, walkers and wheelchair participants..

The Daisy Kids K is for kids of all ages. Parents are welcome to run with their children (for free) or along the side of the course.

Daisy is the kickoff to the ARC Sprint Series!  If you participate in Daisy, you are automatically enrolled in the Sprint.  Go to spring.austinrunners.org for more info!
